PSI has been awarded the 2019 Business of the Year by Workplace Solutions of Central Texas. PSI was recognized for its efforts to prepare a localized qualified employee applicant pool through customized training.
As one example, PSI participated in the Workforce Solutions-sponsored Central Texas Teacher Externship Program. Teachers worked in the PSI facilities for three days to understand real-world work requirements so that they could develop a curriculum that links learning and work demands. While on-site teachers participated in job shadowing and hands-on activities that gave them insight into job and industry-specific workplace expectations and skills requirements.
Further demonstrating commitment to preparing a skilled potential workforce, PSI joined Workforce Solutions to provide new advanced manufacturing equipment to Temple ISD’s Career and Technical Educational Center. PSI’s donation of $15,000 was matched by a Texas Industries Partnership grant to enable the purchase of a CNC machining tool. The purchase will give the TISD students training and access to the computer numerical controlled tool as well experience with the CAD software used in the PSI production facilities.
PSI also received congressional recognition from the office of Congressman John Carter for its partnership with Temple ISD.
