On Oct. 12 our team presented a check to the American Red Cross for $5,000 toward the on-going Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts. Monies were raised through T-shirt sales and individual donations. Plus, PSI matched all employee contributions. Clothing items and toiletries were also donated to the relief effort.

“Our company has always held the well-being of our employees, customers, and neighbors above all else,” said Steve Davis, Director of Sales & Marketing for PSI. “So when the Texas coastal communities were in need it seemed only right that we jump in to help however we can.”

In addition to the $5,000 donation from Panel Specialists, Inc., Southwest Contract, our residence hall furniture sales partner, matched our money with a $5,000 contribution of their own!

Hurricane Harvey made landfall on Friday, August 25th as a Category 4 hurricane, and left the majority of Texas coastal towns underwater.

According to the Texas Tribune, between the federal government, the Red Cross and private charities, BILLIONS of dollars will be needed to help Hurricane Harvey victims in Texas. So far charitable organizations like the Red Cross, and private fundraising campaigns by stars like J.J. Watt, have raised more than $350 million towards relief … but so much more is needed for families struggling to recover.
